Social media and content planning for 2023

As the year turns, and we look forward to a well earned rest between Christmas and New Year, here at 92 Minutes, we’re already planning and preparing for next year.

Planning your content before you sit down to write it is one of the best ways to save time and make your work work harder for you. How many times have you sat there thinking, I need to write a blog, I need to post on social media - or worse, oh no, the event is next week, and we’ve not posted about it at all?

Planning and preparing early means you have some stuff ready days, weeks and even months in advance - and honestly, that makes the rest of the work feel like filling in gaps, rather than an emergency every day. It makes a huge difference to how you feel about your social media and comms, and that makes a huge difference to how well you do it.

We do this planning using a huge - huge - content calendar.

We call it our Mistress Calendar - there are enough Master documents in the world after all. This lists hundreds of awareness days and weeks, and events that are relevant to our clients and the sectors we work in. It also includes dress up your pet day, school holidays, religious festivals and countless other dates. You may or may not be religious, you may or may not have children and so you may think that these days aren’t relevant to you - but they relevant to the people you want to talk to?

In December, we are reviewing our Mistress Calendar. making sure that any new dates are added (we recently found out about Safeguarding Adults Week for example, so we are adding that) and we’re then discussing the calendar with our clients in our last meetings of the year. We’ll agree all the dates that they may want to focus on in the coming year, and then every month we review and pick the ones we do want to focus on, together. We also look a few months ahead so that - for example - if there’s a an event coming up in September, we can say in March ‘Join our event six months today! ’. We find that it’s better to have more than less in the calendar as it gives you options, and we also find that its the thinking that takes the time - doing the thinking once and planning, makes doing the doing so much easier.

Could this kind of planning work for you? We’d be more than happy to share our calendar with you for free - just book a 15 minute chat here so we can explain how it works.

And if you fancy a content calendar of your very own but haven’t got time to create one, we can set one up for you. Book here for a chat about the days you’d want to include.
